My dog has scabs on his back, and keeps rubbing them off. What can I do to help them heal?
My dog is pretty old, he's started losing fur along his back and rubs it along the bottom of the sofa til it goes red and raw. We can't take our eyes off him for a second until he goes back and does it again. The scabs never get a chance to heal up. He's been to the vet, who gave us tea tree dog shampoo, and we wash him with it regularly but it doesn't do much. I just wondered if anyone else whose dog had had this problem might have any tips of their own.
I would suggest shaving the fur off around the scabs and put a bandage on them so the dog will not scratch them off and they can heal properly but u need to do something soon because if the scabs don't heal soon they could get infected and that can lead to even worse problems.
