The Master Cleanse is often known as the Lemonade Diet. Basically it means you spend ten days drinking a lemonade consisting of fresh lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water. That's it. You can drink extra water or tea as well but basically the lemonade is what you have and only that for ten consecutive days. This will enable you to clean your body from the inside out, getting rid of toxins and clearing out your colon. Here is the recipe:
Drink 6 to 12 servings of lemonade (10 oz glass) each day. The lemonade is made as follows:
For one 10 oz glass:
2 tablespoons of fresh organic lemon juice
2 tablespoons of organic grade B maple syrup
1/10 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper (or as much as you can taste up to 1/10th)
10 oz good quality water
The salt water flush is recommended first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything at all and here is the recipe:
1 ½ to 2 teaspoons of organic uniodized sea salt
1 quart of water
1 teaspoon of fresh lemon or lime juice (optional)
The mixture doesn't taste great and it is a lot to drink. The fresh lemon or lime juice does make it more palatable though. You do need to drink it all at once, which isn't easy but doable if you do it in parts - say try to drink a quarter of the mixture at one go and then the rest gradually until you have consumed everything. It really acts as an enema so you need to have easy and quick access to the bathroom!
Most people doing this experience a bowel movement within an hour of taking it and you can have as many as five or six bowel movements the day you take it. If this doesn't work for you, then next time try to add more salt to the mixture. If you feel nauseous when drinking it, just go slowly. It's best to drink the whole quart, but if you can't do that, just drink as much as you can.
Doing this can help remove toxins and waste material from the body - even the old plaque which can line the inner walls of the colon. The gravity of salt water is almost the same as the gravity in our blood which means that the kidneys and blood will not absorb it. Therefore the digestive system gets a thorough 'wash'! Not only that but it is cheap and safe and can give your body a much needed detox.
